The roots of ELANE are in the deep forests of the
german Sauerland. The characteristic mixture of organic and electronic sounds
has become their trademark. The amazing voice of lead singer Joran Elane as
well as acoustic and electric guitars, violin, viola, cello, gentle soundscape,
percussions and bombastic orchestral arrangements create the distinctive sound
of ELANE and give them a huge recognition value.
The music on
"ARCANE" is inspired by Kai Meyer’s novels. In 15 tracks
ELANE are interpreting 5 novels and serials of the bestseller
author.

"ARCANE" – this is
the mystical and secret facet of music. Being ELANE’s 4th album it
rests up on 3 musical pillars: First there is the medieval-folkloristic side,
which goes along with ELANE from the beginnings. With "ARCANE"
also the aspects of world music have an increasingly effect on the music of
ELANE. Furthermore slightly progressive rock elements play a supporting
role on "ARCANE". In contradiction to the last album “The Silver
Falls” those elements are used restrained to emphasize the
folkloristic overall impression of "ARCANE". The band is supported by
the Canadian cellist Marina Hasselberg.
